The iconic building, designed by renowned architect Terry Farrell & Partners, will provide a unique international visitor attraction for the area.
This will be the world's first aquarium to be based entirely on the principles of conservation. It will be operated by the renowned Zoological Society of London and will include scientific research, education and breeding projects, with a direct link to field conservation programmes.

The 14,500 sq.m building will include a pedestrian friendly Plaza and Esplanade overlooking the Royal Victoria Dock. It is scheduled to open in 2010.
